"Trust Me with every fiber of your being! What I can accomplish in and through you is proportional to how much you depend on Me... I care as much about your tiny trust-steps through daily life as about your dramatic leaps of faith... Consistently trusting in me is vital..." (380)
Last week we witnessed the tough and the tender sides of trust. One of our own, a precious 11 week old baby, was ushered into heaven..many decades and dreams too soon! He was one of three boys, born a triplet, into a loving family with two older sisters. This little guy impacted many lives in a very short amount of time. Without ever saying a word, he filled our hearts with the Presence of Jesus.
So, little Jeremiah was to celebrate Jesus' birthday, in heaven, far before he could ever have had a birthday of his own. His heart-broken, grieving parents leaned hard on Jesus "with every fiber of their being," with every ounce of their faith.
Letting go of such a precious gift requires a tough trust emerging from very vulnerable, tender trusting hearts. At their request, we sang the following song in a service celebrating his brief life, the day just before Christmas Eve.
This whole experience has been a demonstration of how vital, how impacting, it is for tender trusting hearts to trust even when it's tough...when we're "found in the desert place" or walking down "the road marked with suffering."
