Celebrating God's Presence

"Dance and sing and celebrate My Presence. This is My high and holy calling for you... Glorifying and enjoying Me." (178)
Joe and I have found it especially fulfilling to be an extension of God's generous heart to others. The other evening we were celebrating our 35th anniversary at a nice restaurant in Kihei, Maui when the waiter stepped in alongside our table and asked, "What would you say is the secret to a long, happy marriage? My wife and I have been married 11 years, we have 3 kids and we're not doing well."
That opened the door to be an extension of God's generous heart in just a few short minutes. We gave him our best marriage tip... to choose the kind of Love that goes far deeper than the issues that challenge marriage. We also gave him our best financial tip... to be used to take his wife out so he could share with her his new commitment to truly love her. There's no doubt...it was a powerful, God-ordained encounter.
As we left the restaurant we were celebrating God's Presence! It's awesome...

  1. If only we would sing and dance and celebrate God's presence more! I always feel so uplifted and definitely closer to God after an awesome praise and worship time. I also love those DA's, or divine appointments, much like the one you had in the restaurant. I find that when we stay in the presence of God, He tends to set up those kinds of appointments for us, to be a light to others. And, what a blessing that is to us. Why wouldn't we want to share Jesus with those around us? Enjoying Jesus!

  2. Thanks, Kay, you are right! I love the "DA" idea! God's family can be such an extension of His great heart to others and to each other! Enjoying Jesus often includes the extra blessing of enjoying His people, too! Aren't we abundantly blessed to have Him and to have each other!??
