"Learn to appreciate difficult days... As you journey through rough terrain with Me, gain confidence from your knowledge that together we can handle anything... I remain the same throughout time and eternity. This is the basis of your confidence." (327)
There really is nothing quite like walking through a tough experience together... with a friend, your spouse, or as a family. Joe and I have experienced this with our own family, our church family, even a city of families, go through a difficult time together and come out on the other side so bonded, so confident and so grateful for one another! The same is true in our relationship with Jesus. Each challenge is an opportunity to develop a personal history with a Sovereign Savior.
My life story is really an unfolding mystery revealing how He transforms my story to be His story! After all, it's really all about Him, anyway! So, I can be confident that a Sovereign Savior who began a good work in me will carry it on to completion, day by day, until the day Jesus comes for me. I needed this today. I tend to be one of those that says, "Yes, but that was then and this is now", when the Holy Spirit tries to remind me of all the times He has helped me, when I am having a difficult time now. I want to be someone who always remembers what God has done for me and to cope successfully during hard times.
ReplyDeleteI love the song that goes with the Philippians scripture! I learned this song on a mission trip to Mexico.

Here are the words of the song I posted.
ReplyDeleteHe who began a good work in you
He who began a good work in you
Will be faithful to complete it
He'll be faithful to complete it
He who started the work
Will be faithful to complete it in you
If the struggle you're facing
Is slowly replacing
Your hope with despair
Or the process is long
And you're losing your song
In the night you can be sure
That the Lord has His hand on you
Safe and secure
He will never abandon you
You are His treasure
And He finds His pleasure in you
sung by Steve Green
Thanks for sharing, Kay. I can identify with your struggle.
ReplyDeleteMelissa's song says it well! It's so good to remember He will never abandon us and that He finds His pleasure in us! What a comforting, encouraging thought! Thanks for the great song!
