"When many things seem to be going wrong, trust Me. When your life feels increasingly out of control, thank Me. These are supernatural responses, and they can lift you above your circumstances...Affirm you trust in Me, regardless of how you feel. Thank Me for everything, though this seems unnatural - even irrational...(in) trusting and thanking Me - you will experience My unfathomable Peace." (290)
"Trust Me...Thank Me!" These spiritual directives can come quite readily, at times, however, I've known times when it required a very intentional effort. Trusting is one thing. Thanking is a whole other discipline. Both are far more difficult when I am in the "Waiting Room" of life. Waiting for an answer, a call, a confirmation, a miracle...waiting and waiting.
We've spend long hours in hospital "Waiting Rooms" and they're generally not "faith-friendly" places to be. The "Waiting Rooms" of life do not have long lines of people desiring to enter, but there are many who are there by default or.... maybe by design!?
Which ever it is...I'm glad Isaiah 40:31 gives us the hope that those who "wait on the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint."
So, while I wait I will prepare my eagle wings to soar and my feet to run...
Someday...dmc

Dawn, Isaiah 40:31 (actually 28-31) has been my all time favorite verse for years! When I have been in stressful situations I ask God for wings to fly above my circumstances so that I can see things from His perspective! Wow, what a difference that makes when He does just that!
