Trail of Dust on the High Road

"Stay on the high road with Me... walk ever so closely with Me, soaking in My Presence, living in My Peace. This is My unique design for you, planned before the world began." (175) "For we are His creation-created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them." Eph. 2:10
This particular verse has spoken to me many times. It baffles my mind to think that God had me in mind far before 'my time.' On the time-line of humanity, there's a little trail of 'dust' representing my life. With all my unique frailties, flaws and mixture of efforts, God was preparing... in the big and little things of my life... for "good works" to be accomplished for His Glory!! That inspires me, motivates me and keeps me focused on HIM. It's all about using this 'dusty vessel' of my life in the most rewarding way possible...to magnify my great Creator!
Incidentally, we are taking our working-vacation, sitting on the lanai, enjoying Maui breezes and the same little Hawaiian man who mows the golf course beyond us, every year, is still singing praise songs as he rides on the mower! Every year we try to discern which song he's singing. Every time it's a great worship song! I'm thinking that God created that lawn-mowing 'dusty vessel' to bless others with a beautiful voice and a beautiful lawn. He's living on the High Road with Jesus!
Trusting God with My 'Dust'...dmc
PS - The man mowing has been whistling "Blessed Assurance!" A song from the High Road!

  1. After reading several translations/paraphrases (Bibles) I am in awe that God designed me uniquely for His specific purposes . . . and calls me one of His Masterpieces! Then, in Micah it says that all He wants is for me to be fair, just, merciful, and to walk humbly with Him . . . wherever He leads me (my paraphrase). How awesome and humbling is that? Help me Father to be able to discern where you want me to go and what you want me to do.
I am so thankful Dawn Marie and Joe that God gives you this time away to renew, reflect and plan for the coming year; complete with your own “dusty little man” to serenade you while on the lanai. May God bless your time on the island!

  2. Thanks, Carolynn... we are having precious time with Jesus and with each other. I learned after blogging, that the "dusty little man" mowing the golf course beyond us, will also sing or whistle great classical "masterpieces!" He certainly is one of God's Masterpieces. Thanks for sharing your Masterpiece insight! Aloha!
