"Walk by faith, not by sight." (2 Cor. 5:7)
Herein lies two options for how we can conduct our daily lives.
1. By Faith - responding in a way that maximizes God's ability to intervene - hope-filled living!
2. By Sight - responding in a way that minimizes God's ability to intervene - doubt-filled living!
It's pretty simple...I will lean into God or lean into my own understanding (Prov. 3:4-6)

Mom, I always love how simple you make God's word, especially for those of us to try to make it so difficult. I love how God speaks so differently to each of us as we all walk this walk. As I face "Monday" the "1st of the Month" & "Payroll" (all today) I was overwhelmed before my feet hit the floor until I read the devo today. God reminded me that the mountain I'm "seeing" is far off in the distance & I may not even have to climb it & I am reminded to walk by FAITH! The verse I'm holding on to for today out of the devo is Psalm 18:29 & I specifically like the Amplified version "For by You I can run through a troop, and by my God I can LEAP over a wall" Thank you Jesus for "Your Calling" on my life & giving me what I need to not only climb the hill but LEAP the wall! ReplyDeleteAnd go LEAP that wall, girl!
Prayerfully yours...mom c :)
Sometimes I climb mountains I don't need to climb, meaning I can make mountains out of mole hills. If I bring my day to God and give him the overwhelming tasks I have ahead, the mountain I made he can turn into a mole hill. It’s almost like he makes more minutes in the day just so I can get it all done and then I sit and wonder why I was so stressed! But when he wants me to climb that mountain, I know that he will give me what I need to do it.
ReplyDeleteWhat have I to dread, what have I to fear,
Leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.
OK, I know I'm a week late but my computer is in the office/bedroom and I can't get to it when the house is quiet and there is just me and God--so I log in only about once per week. Dawn, I think the two options you listed just helped me clarify a decision I have been wrestling with for weeks (or months!)--to pursue foot surgery or not to pursue foot surgery. I have an excellent surgeon and God is in control!
