"I am a God who heals. I heal broken bodies, broken minds, broken hearts, broken lives, and broken relationships...ask for healing of some brokenness... You cannot live close to Me without experiencing some degree of healing...grow more and more intimate with Me ...and thank Me for the restoration that has begun." (243)
There's a lot I do not understand about healing, but I do know that the closer I live to Jesus, the more I experience Him and He touches me with "degrees of healing." My prayer is that after others have spent time with us, they will be less broken and far more blessed... All because the Gentle Healer is alive in each of us!
Staying Close to The Healer...dmc

The gentle Healer came/Into our town today
He touched blind eyes/And the darkness left to stay
But more than the blindness/He took their sins away
The gentle Healer came/Into our town today
The gentle Healer came/Into our town today
He spoke one word/That was all He had to say;
And the one who had died/Just rose up straight away
The gentle Healer came/Into our town today
Oh, He seems like just/An ordinary man
With dirty feet/And rough but gentle hands
But the words He says/Are hard to understand
And yet, He seems like just/And ordinary man
The Gentle Healer/He left our town today
I just looked around/And found He'd gone away
Some folks from town/Who followed Him, they say
That the gentle Healer is/The Truth, the Light, the Way.

I love Psalm 103! I can still hear my Grandmother's voice reading (or I think she could quote the whole Psalm): "Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities: who healeth all thy diseases..." Psalm 103:1-3 KJV. I enjoy the CEV translation because it gives me new insights into an old familiar portion of scripture. Verse 5 reads: "Each day that we live, he provides for our needs and gives us the strength of a young eagle." So this day is yours, God!
ReplyDeleteMelissa, I vividly remember when our first child went off to college and I experienced some of the same feelings you mentioned on Aug. 17. Now our son is a mature man with a wonderful Christian wife, and they have given us four wonderful grandchildren. Keep praying. There are great days ahead! I like the song you mentioned too.
I really like the verse mentioned above from Amelia in Psalms about God healing all our diseases. I am praying for some healing to take place this weekend as we are at my husband's grandma's funeral. The past few years there have been relationship difficulties, divorce, and a lot of hurt. May God receive all the glory, honor, and praise, and may His healing touch be on the family.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amelia! I have really seen God working and Thank you Dawn for that beautiful song! God's music is healing to me. I love diversity in music as well.
ReplyDeleteThe scripture that spoke to me was 2 Corinthians 12:7-9. To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
I find when I have "thorns in my side" I seem to focus on God more than when I don't have the thorn. (I'm working on changing that) He is showing me that I need to live through Him in all I do. So does this mean I must always be weak? "His power is made perfect in weakness." I want to run on God power!
Janie, I am praying for you and your family. Here is a song for you.

I love the way we can support each other in prayer and postings via this method. You are all blessing me richly! With all our various ponderings, it is good to know...God is still on the Throne, watching over His own! No matter how weak and imperfect we are! Praying for you, Amelia, Janie & Melissa! Thanks for sharing!
