"In order to hear My voice, you must release all your worries into My care. Entrust to Me everything that concerns you. This clears the way for you to seek My Face unhindered... allowing My Light to soak into you and drive out any darkness lodged within you...thank Me and rest in My sovereignty." (294)
Several friends reflected on this powerful truth in their own lives. Kay said it helped her go through her "day rejoicing and not worrying!" We know that joy and worry come from different parts of our brain. Living in joy refuels us. Worry drains us.
Melissa shared how taking time, "everyday to clear (her) mind of the day's events and focus only on God" has made such a helpful impact on her daily life.
Another friend said it reminded her of the folks in the Claritin commercial...before God our thoughts are fuzzy and out of focus, however, after God our thoughts are clear! She said, "I definitely prefer the clear over the fuzzy!"
To hear His Voice, to seek His Face, to soak in His Presence, to rest in His Sovereignty... what a blessed way to live! What a healthy way to live! Hearing, seeking, soaking and resting... That's on my agenda for today...no matter how full my day becomes!

My response: With God as the center of my life, everything else in life fall into place. He provides me with a consistent, unified worldview that makes sense in all areas of my life. He leaves nothing out. God has my whole being covered. When I make Him and His Word the center and focus, He provides every need I have. My prayer is that I will today and everyday with Hm as the center of everything.
ReplyDeleteAmen, Joyce! That makes a lot of sense & I agree! Living every day with Christ at the Center keeps my life well anchored! Be Blessed!
ReplyDelete"In order to hear My voice, you must release......" I'd like to read more on this "condition" for hearing God's voice. Can someone point me to the scriptural reference for the first statement in today's devotion? (None of those listed describe this condition) Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHello Kevin! I know this is about two years later but I just discovered this devotional a few days. You said you wanted a scriptural reference and you may have already gotten an answer but I pondered your question for myself and I'd like to share what I hope will be an answer for you. When the Lord instructs us to cast all our cares upon him it's because our cares, our worries, frustrations and anxieties hinder and potentially block our ability to hear his voice. These emotions inwardly claw at us on a gut level and, in my own experience, has made it extremely hard to hear God during the times I want to hear from him the most! So casting all of our cares is a prerequisite to hearing the Lord. (That's the 1 Peter 5:6-7 reference given for that day) I see that you wrote your post at 5:09 in the morning and more than likely you are still rising early to meet the Lord! I pray all is well. Blessings to you Kevin. Edwina
DeleteCould someone, please, point me to the scripture references. I enjoy reading the thoughts but I can't seem to find the scripture references. I would love to read God's word in these thoughts also.
