I try to envision those four words woven together forming a safety net... "IAmWithYou" providing security against misfortune, limiting "how far down you can go." Life continues to present a milieu, of scary situations to exciting opportunities, that test this divinely woven "IAmWithYou" safety net.
Caught in the "free fall" of the unexpected, the unknown and the unwanted... it's not a welcoming place to be...yet that is the place of greatest discovery. It's in the midst of "free fall" I discover the weightiness of my own soul. I discover the unbecoming, Christ-less aspects of myself that reflect fragments of my fallen nature that continue to hinder my redeemed nature. So, it becomes a place of great discovery and growth. This is where my redeemed nature challenges my fallen nature and I safely land....
Face down, at His feet...dmc
Boy has this one hit home today! It has been a year since my husband had to take a 10% pay cut. The first 6 months we did ok with things and then it started getting tougher. With utilities going up, gas, food, etc, we were able to maintain financially even after we eliminated a car payment. I saw our savings slowly depleting with phone calls at work even tested my patience. In addition other frustrations were beginning to take hold of me and my “free fall” felt like it was out of control. I kept telling God, “I trust you with this”, but my human impatience was strongly pulling on me and the tears of frustration began. Then God began to open my eyes to the little blessings that were all around. As each one became clear, my stress slowly began to dissolve and the tears of joy returned.

Wow, Melissa...what a worship experience! Thanks for sharing such a sacred moment with us. Captured in His overwhelming Holiness....
ReplyDeleteThank you for today's timely reminder. I kept hearing "always" as I read this ... my favorite part "My presence LIMITS how far you go down" hallelujah! I've been in a low place dealing with an ailing mother, unemployed, seemingly in a desert place..it's just great to know even here HE is with mE.
