Bone Weary & Soul Dancing

"You are bone-weary. Do not be ashamed of your exhaustion. Instead, see it as an opportunity for Me to take charge of your life." (40)
Isn't it good news to know that God truly understands what it means to be "bone-weary?"
My response to "bone-weariness" has changed through the years. As a kid, I'd just drop off to sleep. As a teen, I'd just get annoyed. As a college student, I'd just try to get alone and regroup. As a young mom, I'd just... keep going, no matter what! As a mother of teens, I'd just bite my tongue. Now, as a "Grammy," I just get bone AND soul-weary!
However... As I child of God, I know I am absolutely loved and totally understood.  Never judged or condemed, no matter how bone or soul-weary I may be!!  Just thinking...
Let's do a little bone & soul dance today...dmc

  1. Being tired can be very exhausting when you are struggling in life. :) "Start with where you are at this point in time and space, accepting this is where I intend you to be." I struggle with situations I am in sometimes and get so caught up in them, my joy can disappear. When I get to this place, I must stop fighting the world and just let God help me take things one step at a time. This helps me to remember there is a reason for this season in my life. God must be trying to show me and grow me and He will carry me through.

  3. It is funny, at first I thought I read the wrong devotion this morning. The picture that is tucked in my mind is empty hands being held toward the Savior as He pours freely His love, joy, peace and His Presence into me because I am reaching for Him and not anything else. How refreshing it is to focus only on Him and not the problem or the difficulty. Everyday is so hard, and He seems to teach me that He is the source of my strength and joy and peace.
