Chosen Captivity

About 10 years ago research was done on our brains' ability to successfully multi-task. The results revealed that multi-tasking tends to "drain the brain's" ability to be efficient and creative. Basically, we do better when we hold one thought at a time and bring it to completion. So, thought by thought, we can plot our own destiny.
Good News! We have the "amazing freedom...to choose the focal point of our minds." (30) We can "bring every thought captive, making it obedient to Christ." (2 Cor. 10:5) So, either our thoughts will take us captive or we will take our thoughts captive.

  1. I loved the commentary in my bible for Isaiah 26:3. "We can never avoid strife in the world around us, but with God we can know perfect peace even in turmoil. When we are devoted to him, our whole attitude is steady and stable."

Like Dawn Marie said, "We have the freedom to choose the focal point of our minds" and when we choose God he promises to give us his peace and "guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus". Phil. 4:7
