Wow, today's devotional thoughts about the benefits of peace in His presence prompted me to review some of my recent research on brain imaging. Numerous studies have documented the differences between a brain at peace (through meditation and prayer) verses a "toxic" brain "weighed down with problems and unresolved issues." The benefits of staying in His presence even in the midst of our busy lives are huge! He is truly our "burden-bearer." He has "conquered the world and deprived it of power to harm" us (including our brains!) A peaceful mind is a healthier mind!
May you be at peace in His presence...dmc

I also love in Psalm 31:19 "Those who trust and take refuge in You before the sons of men" will be blessed. Joyce Meyer uses this verse to talk about "not being a 'closet Christian' but instead be open and live Christianity before the sons of men. That we must care more about our reputation in heaven than our reputation among men on earth."
ReplyDeleteSorry, I veered off course but just wanted to share. I know sometimes I struggle with living boldly & openly before unbelievers.
~also so excited about this blog & doing a daily devotional with FWC women!
Oh, I love hearing how others are learning and growing! What is prompted in each of our hearts can be so individual and God-inspired. Doing this together and learning from each other will help us all move forward spiritually.
ReplyDeleteI've been asked if it's OK for friends and family beyond FWC to join the blog.... Absolutely YES!! Even some guys are interested. Let's take as many as possible on this journey! Lives will be changed in 2010!
Enjoying Jesus & His "Followers"...dmc :)
