Have you discovered your "cushion of calm at the center of your life, where you live in union" with Christ? (72)
As a young teenager, I recall mom encouraging me to go to my room, quiet my heart and seek God, especially when I was overwhelmed with things. That became such a beneficial discipline. It is still a strong soul-anchor that I continue to practice.
Time alone with God is the sweet solitude that strengthens me to move into my very busy, highly relational life. Since my life is basically a series of interactions with others, returning to my "cushion of calm" helps to anchor, level and empower me.
I love Isaiah 30:15b - "You will be delivered by returning and resting; your strength will lie in quiet confidence."

Thank you for sharing that scripture! It was just the right one for someone I know.
ReplyDeleteI definitely need a cushion of calm right now! Between my school work, Tyler's homework, my job, house responsibilities and problems with the sports programs that Tyler is in, I have a heavy load. However, that song "The Anchor Holds" is so fitting! For as hard as this storm can blow, Jesus can calm it all.
Thank you God for the wonderful helping husband too!
Anchored to Jesus!
I guess I'm getting familiar with a
ReplyDeletecushion of calm since i live alone.
I can go to God at anytime, and i do
first thing every morning. It works
for me and puts God as my priority in
my life. This helps take God with me
out into the world . Keeping Him close
and on my mind sure helps in different
situations as they arise. Thank you
God for staying close to me during the
day and always,love.
